County Championships

PBs or near PBs by everyone on Sussex Championships day at Crawley, which is a nice flat ground in pleasant surroundings right behind Tesco's and overshadowed by the beetling tower of the Gatwick Ramada Inn.
Highlight of the day was a titanic confrontation between our Liz and their Marilyn in the Hereford (again). Liz led from the start with a tremendous 148 at 80 yards, and after the 60 yards the leader Board looked like this with 10 dozen shot and just 2 at 50 yards to go..

Marilyn must have dug in at this point (although she swears she didn't know she was this much behind) and by the end had crept 9 points ahead. So both Marilyn and Liz did better than they did at Mole Valley two weeks ago, but Liz improved spectacularly, increasing her score by 50% on all distances, and scoring 260 for the second half , which is over 30 points up on her club record National (same as the 2nd half of a Hereford) from last month, and closing the gap between the two by over 90 points.
Nemesis (for now...)
Alex and Steve both did extremely well for their first big rounds of the year, even though I think they both would have liked another twenty five points or so.
Tried very hard to get a picture of an arrow leaving Liz's Longbow, but this all I managed - look hard, then look at the detail cop further down the page (click to enlarge)
